Welcome to the 2026-27 school year here at Loyola Elementary, home of the Lions! Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 12th. Our day begins at 8:30 A.M. for all students K-6th. TK begins at 8:45. Please be sure to access our school and district websites for more extensive information.

As we approach the new school year, I know students eagerly anticipate who their teacher is going to be. It is important for you to know that a great deal of time, effort and thought has gone into the process of student placement for the 2026-27 school year. We have done our very best to ensure classrooms are balanced academically and socially. Our class lists are structured to provide equitable class sizes at each grade level. Moving students is difficult without causing imbalances and inequities. Therefore, please understand that I will not be moving or reassigning students. Class lists will be posted in the office window at 4:15 on Friday, August 7th.
I thank you so much for being positive with your child and helping him or her understand that it is impossible to place all students with a preferred best friend or teacher. You play a vital role in helping your child transition to a new school year. ALL of our staff works hard to create a positive school experience for ALL students. Loyola is eagerly looking forward to enriching your child’s life. Thank you for understanding that it can take a few weeks for a child to acclimate to a new grade, peer group and teacher.
There are 3 ways to check your child/children’s class placement for the 2026-2027 school year.
Option 1: ParentSquare. The ParentSquare portal is open! If you log in you will see the class placements assigned to your child(ren).
Option 2: PowerSchool. The PowerSchool parent portal is open! If you log in you will see the class placements assigned to your child(ren). Please contact
powerschoolsupport@lasdschools.org if you need help logging in.
Option 3: Class Rosters will also be posted in the front office window on Friday, August 7th, at 4:15.

August 10th – New Family Orientation: 6:30-7:30 PM in the Multi
August 11th - TK Social: 11:15-12:00 PM
August 11th – Kindergarten Social: 12:00-12:30 PM
August 12th – Welcome Back Breakfast for parents: 8:30-10:00 AM in Multi
August 14th – Back to School Picnic: 5:00-7:00 PM on the blacktop
August 25th TUESDAY – Back To School Night (Keep eyes open for more information)
Sept 4th - Minimum Day Dismissal 12:15
Sept 7th- NO School, Labor Day
