This is our second year of implementing Gradual Release of Responsibility model of instruction. Last year our staff worked on establishing content, language, and social goals in the classroom. We worked on something called, "Think Alouds" where teachers demonstrated how they think about solving problems in various content areas. As a staff this year we will look at incorporating more group project based work across our school. We will emphasize teaching students the skills to work in teams and to do so collaboratively. Instructionally, it is an exciting year ahead at
Loyola School.

It is our second year of Project Cornerstone, as well. Kristin Link is leading Project Cornerstone at the school with new books and ways to build a more supportive community of learners. Mrs. Link will have several parent education opportunities for families on how to incorporate the Project Cornerstone messages in your home. This year we kicked off the year with a half-day workshop for all 5th and 6th graders around how to respect each other and themselves.

Loyola’s principal is Ms. Kimberly Attell and she can be reached at 650-254-2400 or by e-mailing kattell@loyolaschool.org.

  • Student Council is a group of peer-elected students in grades 4th-6th who represent the Loyola student body.
